Cash drawer and barcode scanner
Open the drawer on cash payments and sell with a barcode scanner.
Cash drawer
The drawer connects to the receipt printer with its cable (RJ11/RJ12). TPVStream sends the opening command through the printer.
- Connect the drawer to the receipt printer.
- In Settings, turn on Cash Drawer.
- Turn on automatic opening so it opens on cash payments.
To open it without a sale, use Open Drawer in the ticket actions or the Cash Drawer card in Settings.
If the drawer doesn't open, check that the receipt printer prints and is the default printer.
Barcode scanner
USB and Bluetooth scanners work like a keyboard: there's nothing to install.
- Plug in the scanner (or pair it over Bluetooth).
- Enter the Barcode in each product's record by scanning it into the field.
- On the sales screen, scan a product: it's added to the ticket.
If the scanner adds a line break or an odd suffix, set it up from the manufacturer's manual in "keyboard" (HID) mode without a special suffix.
